The ancient fishing technique known as Almadraba —a labyrinth of nets used by the Phoenicians—is still practiced today, specifically in the towns of Barbate and Zahara de los Atunes. From May to June, chefs across the Costa Southern Charms hold special Jornadas del Atún (Tuna Days).
